Online casino game developer Playson has announced its first partnership with operator DraftKings.
The move expands the group’s growing presence in the Ontario online casino market and North America. Playson’s titles will be integrated into the DraftKings platform with the help of Light & Wonder’s aggregation platform, enabling the operator to offer Ontario residents a selection of Playson-developed games. It's just more options for players once they've taken advantage of the best casino bonuses.
As part of the collaboration, Playson will roll out its portfolio of games in phases, with the first phase including popular titles such as Coin Strike: Hold and Win, Thunder Coins: Hold and Win, and Diamonds: Hold and Win. According to Playson, each game features immersive gameplay and visuals, and performance-driven mechanics to boost engagement.
“Partnering with DraftKings is a major step forward for Playson in Ontario. DraftKings is a brand synonymous with excellence in digital gaming, and we are thrilled to see our top content become part of their offering. This collaboration reflects our commitment to delivering engaging experiences to regulated markets and reinforces our strategy to grow in North America through trusted, high-profile partners,” said Cristhian Zito, Head of the LatAm Squad at Playson.
Ontario iGaming reports record-breaking third year
Ontario’s iGaming regulated market is ever-growing, with the province recording record growth in its third year of operation. According to figures published by iGaming Ontario, total wagers in 2024-2025 generated $82.7 billion, a year-over-year increase of 31%, whereas total gaming revenue hit $3.2 billion, rising 32% year-over-year. Real-money online casinos are clearly growing in popularity in the Great White North.
“These results show Ontario is home to a truly dynamic igaming market with a strong roster of operators, and a world-class list of games available for players,” said Heidi Reinhart, iGaming Ontario’s Chair of the Board of Directors. “With 49 operators offering 84 gaming sites, Ontario’s regulated market continues to grow by offering a safer environment for Ontarians to play.”
Ontario’s regulated market launched in April 2022 and has reported steady growth over the years. As of June, iGaming Ontario reports that the market is home to 50 gaming operators, with 86 gaming websites available to Ontario residents.
DraftKings to pay $3M in Connecticut settlement
Aside from entering new partnerships with gaming developers, DraftKings has also experienced legal troubles, most recently in the form of a $3 million settlement in the Connecticut sports betting market after being found guilty of violating state gambling laws.
In a statement published by the state’s Department of Consumer Protection (DCP), DraftKings has agreed to pay back more than $3 million to 7,000 customers who participated in a specific promotional offer that promised a deposit match or deposit bonus between October 19, 2021, and January 4, 2023.
“We are pleased with the outcome of this investigation and that affected consumers will be made whole,” said DCP Commissioner Bryan T. Cafferelli. “Thank you to our Gaming Division team, who work tirelessly on behalf of Connecticut consumers to ensure fairness and safety in our legal gaming marketplace.”
