Las Vegas bettors have pushed up the number on the Las Vegas Raiders’ win total in the 2025 NFL season despite the fact that the Raiders have one of the most significant fatigue numbers in the league.
The Raiders will go through the season with 19 days fewer rest than their opponents, the ninth-largest disparity in the NFL since 2000. Another factor countering them is the tough competition in the AFC West, which includes the Kansas City Chiefs, the Los Angeles Chargers, and the Denver Broncos.
Yet that has not stopped bettors from weighing in on the Las Vegas team getting more than six wins this season.
Win total rises
Most sportsbooks' opening numbers on the Raiders’ win total were 6.5 before and after the NFL draft. However, that total has now increased with various top Nevada sportsbooks reporting numbers between 7 and 7.5.
Circa Sportsbook, Caesars Sportsbook, and Boyd Gaming all have totals of 7.5, while Westgate SuperBook and South Point have ticked up to 7.
“We opened 6.5 and we got a bunch of over money and the market looks like they’ve moved up on them, so then we figured we might as well go up a half game. I guess they like their draft. I’m not sure. … I think they had a decent draft,” said the Vice President of Risk at betting company Westgate, Ed Salmons.
New faces
The Raiders are considered favorites in only four of their seventeen games this season, but that paints a slightly misleading picture. They are small underdogs in five other games, and with plenty of new faces on the squad, bettors appear to be taking an optimistic view.
The franchise made a big move in the Draft, using the sixth overall pick on Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty. Other additions include new head coach Pete Carroll, offensive coordinator Chip Kelly, and general manager John Spytek.
They also traded for veteran quarterback Geno Smith and added depth with running back Isaiah Spiller and cornerback Keenan Isaac.
Caroll signed a seven-year deal with the Raiders after spending 14 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. He is the sixth head coach change at the franchise since 2018. He takes over a team that has not reached the playoffs in three consecutive seasons and faces a tough 2025 schedule.
In addition to the rest of the disadvantage, six of their road opponents this season reached the playoffs last time round.
