UFL Championship Odds & Week 5 Predictions: Stallions Lead Renegades, Defenders, Panthers

The Birmingham Stallions continue to solidify their top spot as the UFL championship odds favorites after winning a third straight game in Week 4, while the St. Louis Battlehawks continue to fall after a second-straight loss.

The Battlehawks' loss came at the hands of the surging Arlington Renegades, who now have the second-shortest UFL championship odds at our best sports betting sites. Meanwhile, the DC Defenders remain the third favorite, despite a Week 4 loss.

📊 UFL championship odds 2025

Here are the live 2025 UFL championship odds via our best sports betting apps entering Week 5. Odds update in real time.

  • Stallions: Birmingham is back on track after winning three straight games following a season-opening loss and has managed to stay afloat despite injuries to starting QB Alex McGough and backup QB Matt Corral
  • Renegades: Arlington's +1000 odds were always too long after following up an XFL championship with a disappointing first season in the UFL, but Bob Stoops and Luis Perez seem to have the Renegades headed in the right direction in year two after a dominant Week 4 win over the St. Louis Battlehawks
  • Defenders: While head coach Reggie Barlow abruptly left for the Tennessee State job before the season, interim Shannon Harris has done a phenomenal job with him and QB Jordan Ta'amu, helping the team to a 3-1 record
  • Panthers: Led by a suffocating defense and the efficient play of Bryce Perkins, Michigan had its strongest performance of the season in a 27-9 win over the Memphis Showboats in Week 4
  • Battlehawks: It looked like St. Louis may challenge for the top spot in the league this year with the way new starting QB Manny Wilkins had played in the first two weeks; however, he was lost to an injury in Week 4, and backup Max Duggan struggled immensely

💰 2025 UFL betting favorites

🐎 Stallions (+200)

It hasn't been the smoothest start to the season for Skip Holtz's Stallions. While the team has managed three straight spring football league titles - two in the USFL, and last year's inaugural UFL championship - it lost the league's reigning MVP in QB Adrian Martinez to the New York Jets.

As a result, Holtz brought in the team's former starting QB, McGough, who won USFL MVP two years ago. But having spent the last year and a half on the Green Bay Packers practice squad, which also included a move to wide receiver, the FIU product was rusty in his return to Birmingham in Week 1.

An ugly 18-11 loss to the Defenders in the season opener was followed up by a bounce-back win over the Michigan Panthers in Week 2, but McGough went down with a shoulder injury and was placed on IR. While Corral had some solid moments in the team's 10-9 Week 3 win over the Renegades and 23-16 Week 4 win over the Houston Roughnecks, he's now banged up.

This offense didn't look trustworthy with Corral under center and is now looking to Case Cookus for the time being. In addition, Birmingham's run game has been non-existent. This price pays just a $20 profit on a $10 winning bet, and I just don't think Birmingham has shown enough to justify that this season.

🔷 Renegades (+375)

It was a bumpy transition for the Arlington Renegades from the XFL to the UFL. Prior to the merger, Stoops had Arlington looking like it might be set to become the XFL's team to beat after winning the title in 2023, but then the team stumbled to a 3-7 UFL debut.

Arlington looks ready to get back on track this season with spring football star Luis Perez at QB and the league's leading rusher in Kalen Ballage. Even with the Renegades' one-point loss to the Stallions in Week 3, this team has the head coach-QB combo to make noise in the UFL this season, and the pass-catching duo of Isaiah Winstead and Sal Cannella has been impressive.

Now, they look like they may be the team to beat after the way they knocked around the Battlehawks in a 30-15 Week 4 win that saw star linebacker Willie Harvey put on a show while leading a dominant defensive performance.

Given the Stallions' QB situation, I much prefer betting on the Renegades at this point, especially if running back Kalen Ballage can get back on track in the coming weeks. If Arlington wins the title, a $10 bet pays a $37.50 profit.

🛡️ Defenders (+400)

The Defenders went 4-6 last year under Barlow, who replaced Eddie George as the head coach at Tennessee State on March 23. So the fact that DC had been the lone undefeated team under Harris, who was the team's QB coach prior to taking the interim head coaching job, was remarkable.

The craziest part is that the Defenders have had one of the league's toughest schedules to start the season. They've already beaten both the Stallions and Battlehawks, which is why I wouldn't put too much stock in them finally losing a game to the San Antonio Brahmas.

However, sustainability is my concern here with Ta'amu having to shoulder so much of the load thus far and the team's leading receiver, Ty Scott, being put on IR. While the Defenders pay a hair more than the Renegades, Arlington remains my favorite bet of the three biggest UFL favorites.

👀 My UFL contender to watch

🐆 Panthers (+450)

If Bryce Perkins keeps this up, the Panthers could be one of the UFL favorites by next week. The former Los Angeles Rams QB put on a show against the Showboats with his efficient passing and his running ability. He now leads the UFL in QB rating (98.3) and yards per attempt (7.9) while sitting 11th in the league in rushing yards (119).

Perkins is an MVP contender through four weeks and if he continues this level of play, the Panthers could end up winning the title. They have one of the league's best defenses - led by linebacker Frank Ginda and defensive back Kai Nacua - plus a veteran head coach in Mike Nolan, who led the team to a 7-3 record last year.

This all comes down to Perkins, but I think the Panthers and Renegades are the best bets to win the UFL title.

🔮 UFL Week 5 predictions

🐴 Showboats vs. Stallions prediction

  • Date: Friday, April 25
  • Kickoff: 8 p.m. ET
  • Location: Protective Stadium (Birmingham, Ala.)
  • How to watch: FOX
  • Prediction: Stallions -10.5 (-113 via BetRivers)
  • AI score projection: Stallions 24, Showboats 13
  • Player to watch: Case Cookus, QB, Stallions

This will be the real test of whether the Stallions are actually capable of living up to the hype as the UFL favorite. They haven't been very consistent thus far, but the Showboats are the worst team in the league, so even with Cookus starting, they should be able to pull off a double-digit victory. Memphis head coach Ken Whisenhunt resigned last week, and this team might struggle to win a game this season.

🐆 Panthers vs. Battlehawks prediction

  • Date: Saturday, April 26
  • Kickoff: 7 p.m. ET
  • Location: The Dome at America's Center (St. Louis)
  • How to watch: ESPN, ESPN+
  • Prediction: Panthers -2 (-110 via BetRivers)
  • AI score projection: Panthers 27, Battlehawks 13
  • Player to watch: Frank Ginda, LB, Panthers

The Battlehawks' QB situation is a mess with Wilkins getting carted off last week and Duggan looking completely out of place on a football field as his replacement. Now Duggan has to take on Ginda and the league's best defense? There's going to be trouble. Plus, Perkins is on a tear right now, and St. Louis just won't be able to slow him for four quarters.

🤠 Defenders vs. Renegades prediction

  • Date: Sunday, April 27
  • Kickoff: Noon ET
  • Location: Choctaw Stadium (Arlington, Texas)
  • How to watch: ESPN, ESPN+
  • Prediction: Renegades -3.5 (-105 via BetRivers)
  • AI score projection: Renegades 21, Defenders 12
  • Player to watch: Luis Perez, QB, Renegades

The Defenders have been putting so much on Ta'amu's plate, and now he has to deal with one of the best defenses in the UFL - the Renegades have yet to allow more than 15 points in a game. Defensively, DC struggled last week with a bad Brahmas offense, so Luis Perez should have a field day against the Defenders.

🛡️ Roughnecks vs. Brahmas prediction

  • Date: Sunday, April 27
  • Kickoff: 3 p.m. ET
  • Location: Alamodome (San Antonio)
  • How to watch: ESPN, ESPN+
  • Prediction: Roughnecks +3.5 (-115 via Caesars)
  • AI score projection: Brahmas 24, Roughnecks 17
  • Player to watch: Jalan McClendon, QB, Roughnecks

The Brahmas finally put together a strong showing last week as they head into their home opener, but starting QB Kellen Mond continues to be an uninspiring option. So while the Roughnecks haven't been good, QB Jalan McClendon showed some promise in his debut last week against the Stallions. I'm banking on Mond turning the ball over more than once and McClendon making enough plays to cover.
